WELCOME

Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church is a place that is centered on Jesus Christ.

We worship one God in three persons-  Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We receive God's gifts through Word and Sacrament.

We go out into the world to make Christ's love known.

COME VISIT US!

Whether you are just in town on Sunday morning before you head out on a cruise ship or you are someone who is trying to figure out who Jesus is and what Christianity is all about, we would love to see you.

We are a congregation of about 200 or so Christians in northeast Fort Lauderdale located just across the street from Holy Cross Hospital.

Our Sunday worship times are:

8:30am  (Traditional) and 10:30am (Praise)

WHY WE EXIST

We exist to follow the command of Jesus when He said, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them all that I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)

We make disciples by proclaiming the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, to everyone we encounter. This good news that God loves us comes to us apart from anything we do and is something we cannot earn. Rather, it comes to us freely, by God's gracious favor towards us through His Son, Jesus Christ.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We are Christians who are a part of the Lutheran tradition. We believe that the Bible, the Old and New Testaments, are God's inspired word and are normative for our faith and life in this world.

Our beliefs are summed up best in the Book of Concord, also known as the Lutheran Confessions. We believe these confessions to be a correct exposition of the Bible.

We are a member congregation of the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod, a denomination of some 6,000 congregations and 2.1 million members in the United States.

For any questions about our beliefs, please contact us at  pastorc@shepherdofthecoast.org

WORSHIP SERVICES

WE WORSHIP ONE GOD, FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT AS THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH HAS FOR ALMOST 2,000 YEARS.

We worship that one God corporately with different styles of worship.

TRADITIONAL WORSHIP

Our Traditional service is drawn from our Lutheran liturgical heritage and is centered on different services out of our hymnal, the Lutheran Service Book. Our traditional service is held at 8:30am  each Sunday morning in our Sanctuary on the west end of our facility.

PRAISE WORSHIP

Our Praise service is held at 10:30am each Sunday morning.

Our praise service retains all of the essential elements of Christian worship.

Sins are confessed and forgiven.

The Creed is confessed.

The Scriptures are read.

Prayers are offered for all of those in need and for the entire world.

The Lord's prayer is prayed as Jesus taught us.

The sermon proclaims God's law that condemns and Christ crucified that saves.

The Lord's Supper is celebrated as Christ commanded.

Our praise service is led by a praise band that includes several talented musicians using their God-given gifts to lead his people in worship.

The Lord's Supper is offered on the first and third Sundays of each month in our traditional service and the second and fourth Sundays at our contemporary service.

A staffed nursery is offered during our worship services.
